10 Must read Inspirational Sayings from Bruce Lee

Hamlet Himu | 1:51 PM | 0 Comments

Bruce Lee is often thought of as an iconic martial arts action film star, which, of course, he was. He was also a director and producer of films and the founder of the Jeet Kuhn Do school of martial arts, as well as a well-read philosopher.

Bruce Lee

Lee was a film icon whose roles gave rise to a new popular interest in martial arts around the world. While he felt that physical training was an important feature of martial arts practice, and he pushed his body to and past its limits in development of physical skills, he emphasized that mental and spiritual preparation was the critical piece for success in martial arts. To this end, Lee studied philosophy and drama and had a vast library. He became known within and outside of the martial arts circles for his philosophical approach to fighting and to life, and he often claimed that his fighting was a metaphor for his philosophical beliefs.

Lee also felt that his poetry, in a free-form kind of verse, was an example of his belief that man should be like water – without form and fluid.

Lee’s premature death at the age of 32 was shocking and brought speculation about the cause among those who did not accept a coroner’s report stating that Lee had died from cerebral edema. There were rumors that he had become a victim of the Triad or possibly a curse placed on him by those who did not approve of his teaching style. His home in Hong Kong has been preserved as a tourist site filled with memorabilia, and his statue stands at the Avenue of the Stars in Hong Kong.

Bruce Lee’s philosophy presents a good picture of the interior man, and remains an inspiration to the many people whose lives he continues to touch. Here are some of his most well-known sayings:

• “Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough: we must do.”

This quote highlights the importance of action; while knowledge of and willingness to respond to life’s challenges are noble feats, they amount to little if not coupled with the right action.

• “Defeat is a state of mind; no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality.”

This quote gives emphasis on the idea that our attitudes and thoughts are what shape our reality of whether we have “won” or been “defeated”. So long as we resolve to stay positive and never accept defeat in our minds, we will have never been defeated in real life.

• “Those who are unaware they are walking in darkness will never seek the light.”

This quote is a lesson on self awareness and awareness of the world around us. It shows that unless we look far outside of our current situation in a new way, we may never realize the good that we are missing.

• “Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them.”

This quote is about courage and the ability to accept and learn from mistakes. It is meant to show that making mistakes is okay, and that one can always rebound from a mistake as long as we are willing to admit where we’ve made one.

• “It is truly regrettable that a person will treat a man who is valuable to him well, and a man who is worthless to him poorly.” (Samurai proverb)

This quote is an observation about a sad part of humanity: that rather than treating everyone with respect and valuing everyone no matter who they are, many human beings will only treat others well if they need something from them.

• “If you don't want to slip up tomorrow, speak the truth today.”

This quote it truly about the importance of honesty and truth. While it doesn’t say the word “lie”, this quote essentially represents the idea that if you want to ensure that you don’t have problems in the future, always tell the truth and not lies, since they will surely come back to bite you.

• “Life's battles don't always go to the stronger or faster man, but sooner or later, the man who wins, is the man who thinks he can.”

This quote is a life lesson about having confidence in the face of any challenge. It emphasizes the fact that no matter what level of talent or ability someone might have, the person who is successful and “wins” in life’s challenges are the ones who believe in themselves.

• “Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.”

This quote is among some of Bruce Lee’s most famous words, and they essentially mean that in order to be at peace with yourself and be able to face life’s challenges with grace and strength, you must be able to adapt and be flexible with everything. If you don’t allow change and growth, by being “rigid” or stubborn inside, you will often have problems in life.

 • “A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough.”

This quote is simple and it addresses the negative trait of having a bad temper. While some people with a temper see it as a sign of masculinity, a quick temper will actually make you lose judgment by not allowing you to think things through, turning you into a fool.

• “The great mistake is to anticipate the outcome of the engagement; you ought not to be thinking of whether it ends in victory or defeat. Let nature take its course, and your tools will strike at the right moment.”

This quote is a reminder of the importance of both adaptability and calmness. By having high expectations of certain life situations, we will often be let down. But if we try not to anticipate any outcome and just enjoy life’s process, we will be able to find successful situations for ourselves.

Five Tips for Expectant Parents

Hamlet Himu | 1:40 AM | 0 Comments

Finding out that you are expecting a baby may induce a whole range of emotions, from excitement and joy to fear and panic. You may be asking yourself an endless stream of questions: how are you going to get everything done? How are you going to afford to look after a baby? How can you make sure that your health is in tip-top condition? It is perfectly normal to feel a combination of worry and elation and most expectant parents experience the same rollercoaster ride during pregnancy. But here are some tips to help you prepare for parenthood:

Newborn Baby

Keep an Eye on Your Health

Naturally you will be preoccupied with the health of your growing baby, but it is important for pregnant women to take care of themselves during pregnancy. Doctors recommend all pregnant women and women who are hoping to conceive to take folic acid supplements to reduce the risk of spinal cord disorders, such as spina bifida. Eating a healthy, balanced diet will also help to ensure that your body takes in all the nutrients and vitamins it needs, and following the advice of doctors about foods will help to reduce the risk of illnesses and birth defects.

There is a well-known phrase that pregnant women are eating for two, but this is not necessary and pregnant women should only increase their calorie intake marginally. It is also important to keep an eye out for conditions such as chickenpox as, though this is rare, chickenpox can result in complications.

Oral health is also important for pregnant women. Pregnancy hormones increase the risk of gum disease and there is research to suggest that the bacteria associated with gum disease can cause complications during pregnancy and childbirth, so make sure you go for regular check-ups both during the pregnancy and after your baby is born.

Prepare in Advance

This may seem obvious but preparing for the birth and for life with a new baby will help to make everything less stressful and time-consuming. It is also a good idea to plan the birth, although the actual labour process is unpredictable, so that you know what to expect. Having a bag packed and ready and your birthing partner on hand is beneficial as you never know when you will go into labour.

Happy Family

Start Budgeting

It’s no secret that children cost a lot of money, so starting to budget in advance is advisable. It is a good idea to draw up a budget based on your projected earnings and this should take into account work arrangements when you have the baby. You will need to decide how you and your partner will combat work arrangements and childcare once the baby is older. Putting a sum of money away each month will come in handy if you do have problems with work or decide to work part-time after the baby is born. It may also be worth thinking about long-term plans, such as taking out life insurance and starting a savings account for your child.

Ask for Advice

Parenting is no easy task and it’s worth asking your own parents and friends and relatives who have children for advice, especially if you are daunted by the task ahead. Doctors, dermatologists and a whole host of medical professionals are also there to help.
Child-Proof Your Home

If you are used to living alone or as a couple it is likely that you will have to make a few minor adjustments to your home; to make it a safe and suitable environment for your baby to grow. This may include making a spare room into a nursery, creating a playroom or simply putting stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs to prevent accidents once your baby starts crawling.

Four Quotes about Joy: Find Activities and People That Will Make You Feel Joyful

Hamlet Himu | 12:58 AM | 0 Comments

Joy for some may not come easy, but by incorporating daily activities that you love and only allowing people in your life that will make you happy, joy will be much easier to reach. So instead of being discouraged over your current struggles or feeling like joy is not on the other side, start focusing on the things you are thankful for. One way to look on the bright side is to read quotes, which will help you realize that joy is closer than it may seem. Joy will be yours again and once you’ve felt the joy come deep from inside you, you’ll continue to feel joyful.

  1. “Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss

This childhood author encourages us to not focus on the fact that a joyful moment will come to an end, but to instead revel in the memory of it. Unfortunately some of the best moments will indeed pass you by, but instead of focusing on the fact that they are over, be grateful that they took place. Whether the moment was a compliment from a friend or a romantic picnic with a significant other, cherish the precious moments and hold them in your memory bank. Also, smile because they did happen and they will certainly happen again.

  1. “The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” – E.E. Cummings

Taking the time to laugh is not only good for your heart; it results in a constant joyfulness. Laugh until your stomach hurts and think of things that have made you laugh in the past as well. Laughing with loved ones and thinking of the joyful moments will only lead to more moments like this in the future. So don’t waste your days being ungrateful and unsatisfied, but instead laugh and feel thankful for life. After all, experiencing joyful moments and times of laughter are days that should never be wasted.

  1. “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” – John Keats

As John Keats reminds us, it’s important to find objects of beauty that will make you feel joyful. Whether this is pulling flowers from your garden or holding a little one near, something that is beautiful will indeed make you feel joyful. Beauty and joy go side by side and by experiencing joy you will in turn feel joyful as well. Hold onto your joy and you will find beautiful memories and activities that will maintain your feelings of gladness.

  1. “Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.” – Marianne Williamson

Don’t take special moments for granted and you will recognize and be thankful for the wonderful moments. Surrounding yourself with positive people who love you for who you are is a part of this process of finding joy. It’s easier to find joy within yourself by enjoying activities and people who will help you feel joy. Also, don’t take life for granted. It’s important to be thankful for a home, joy, family, and friends because only then joy will find you. You need only to be grateful for life and everything you’ve been given.

Which Social Media Site is Best for my new blog?

Hamlet Himu | 2:07 AM | 1 Comment

After making a blog everyone thinks about quick indexing on search engines. For quick indexing in Google you have to submit your sitemap in Google webmaster tool. But sometimes it takes time. Two three days or more days. A week or more. And other search engines like yahoo and others take even more time.

So here You can use Social media sites for quick indexing your websites or to spread your site. We know many Social sites, like

1. Facebook

2. Twitter

3. StumbleUpon

4.Digg

5.Chime

6.Pinterest

But which site is best for your blog? For inedexing on search engines and others? It's a very important thing to know. Recently i started a new blog www.homemyheaven.co.uk. After making this i submitted sitemap on Google webmaster tool. I published some quality content. I used Facebook, Twitter,StumbleUpon,Pinterest,Digg for spreading this site. I used two directory sites Ontoplist and bloggers, i submitted there my new site.

I used Social sites Facebook more for sharing my new blog. Then Twitter. And spend a very little time on StumbleUpon, Digg and Pinterest for my new blog.

After one month(probably) I search on Google writing Homemyheaven.co.uk in search bar. And found some interesting result. I took the screen shot if First five page of Google search result using Awesome Screenshot 3.4.6. Here the first Page:

Google Search Result-1

Here Pinterest on Third position on First Page!!! Google Loving this New image sharing site.

Then in First page Bloggers.com's Profile of Homemyheaven. Bloggers is a community of bloggers. Where you can submit your blog. You can add other bloggers, can message, comment on their profiles. It's a growing community of bloggers.

Now Second page of Google Search Result:

Google Search Result-2

In second page Facebook Shared link appearing. But i shared many links of my new blog on Facebook. But only one is coming. I shared this one from Facebook page of FlowingEvents.com...So Google like Page's shared link rather then profiles shared link??

And in last position Tweets from FlowingEvents. I shared this Bed Bugs article from FE's twitter profile for Homemyheaven. I shared some other links too. But only one is coming.

Third page of Google Search Result:

Google Search Result-3

It's the most interesting Page. Digg is Coming here. Above Digg You can see Archive of May2012. So keeping Archive's in blog is very very important. Another Facebook Pages shared link is appearing below Digg.

And then Twitter is showing his power. Some Readers Tweeted some of HomemyHeavens articles and they are proudly appearing on Google search result. So Of you have a new blog ask your friends and other bloggers to Tweet one of your blog post. That can help your blog to get nearer with search engine Google.

And at last of page three Ontoplist, the blog directory is coming. Ontoplist is a blog directory. Where you can submit your blog. Both paid an free submissions are available. For free submission you have to add a link of ontoplist on your blog.

Now the fourth page:

Google search result -4

Here Two Digg submission is appearing. Digg submission is very good for quick indexing. And at last ontoplist is also present here.

The fifth and the last one:

Google search result-5
Fifth page is containing two result. One is from HamletFE's Facebook profiles websites description and other from Ontoplist.

So These are the first five pages Google Search result for www.Homemyheaven.co.uk

Conclusion:

At the conclusion i can make a relation with Social media site and a New blog like this way:

Digg+Twitter+Pinterest - - - - Best Friend

Facebook + StumbleUpon - - - - Good Friend. Facebook and StumbleUpon can generate a huge traffic for a blog.

Directory Sites like Ontoplist and Bloggers are great for a New blog.

And Lastly Some Tips for Your New blog:

1. Use Twitter more. Tell your friends and other bloggers to tweet your Blog posts. I said it earlier and it's very effective.

2. Digg your every post. Digg mean submit your articles link on Digg.

3. Open a Pinterest account for your blog. Daily post images (pins) with a good description and link back to your blog.
(Read About Pinterest)

4. For Facebook  ad your blog address on your profiles website section.

5. Do more group post and page share on Facebook not just sharing link from your profile.

6. Use Ontoplist and bloggers to engage with other bloggers.

7. Lastly Comment on FlowingEvents and Show your Last post here. I added Comment Luv Plugin in comment System. So If you Comment here and ad your blog's link on website section it will show your last post. And it's very possible to get a FREE backlink from here. :)

Congratulations – You’re Married. Now The IRS Will Separate You

Hamlet Himu | 12:37 AM | 0 Comments

Now that you’ve decided to build a life together, you will encounter the first part that might cause you to separate –taxes.

I don’t mean that literally. Figuratively speaking, the IRS offers filing status “options” for married couples. The two options are:

  1. Married filing jointly. This means your income and any deductions or credits are lumped together.
  2. Married filing separately. This is the most confusing option where you separate incomes and file them on separate returns.

                  Married Man!

Also, please note that this article deals only with the IRS. In some states, you are only allowed to file your state taxes with the same status as you used with the federal. But some states, like Virginia, have enough options (six altogether) to add considerable confusion to the process. If you use Turbo Tax, most of the complexity will handled for you with simple questions and answers.

The so-called “marriage penalty” is somewhat of a myth. It can occur if the individual incomes of the married couple are fairly different. To understand how this can happen, we need to define what actual tax rates are. The IRS tax code contains six rates for ordinary income. The number and actual percentages change almost yearly. Your effective income tax rate is usually lower. The effective tax rate is calculated after the return is complete with all credits and deductions applied. Simply put, credits are applied directly to the tax amount you would owe from the basic six rates - deductions are subtracted from your income. The effective tax rate then is:

Effective tax rate = (Income – deductions) x tax table rate) – credits / Gross Income) x 100

Depending on how many credits you qualify for, your effective tax rate might be considerably lower than the percentage rate of the six you qualify for.

The marriage penalty then works like this: if one spouse makes $80,000 in income and the other makes $20,000, married filing jointly requires the incomes be added together totaling $100,000. If you were filing as single individuals and the income was evenly distributed, the $50,000 per individual could conceivably have a much lower effective tax rate. Married filing separately often allows neither spouse to claim tax credits that would have been available under married filing jointly or single.

The big advantage of married filing jointly is that most tax credits are available only when using this filing status. Many of the credits such exemption for the sale of a house are doubled when the status is married filing jointly but limited when filing separately. For example, the exemption for the sale of a primary residence is currently $250,000 for a single taxpayer status but $500,000 for married filing jointly. If you choose married separately, only one person can claim the exemption and it reverts to $250,000.

Sounds complicated? It is but that’s why tax software helps. And now that the honeymoon is over, start saving for the future.

THE 5 SMART SAYINGS OF GROUCHO MARX

Hamlet Himu | 12:20 PM | 0 Comments

Julius Henry Marx, aka ‘Groucho’ Marx, was born October 2, 1890, in New York City, New York.  He and his brothers Adolf (Harpo) and Leonard (Chico) made up one of the zaniest comedy groups in American history – The Marx Brothers.  On stage and in the movies, they kept audiences in an uproar with their outrageous puns, satires, musical donnybrooks, and all-around bad-boy behavior with those who were obviously their betters.  Groucho was the nominal leader of this band of merry Andrews, and as such usually had the best lines in their plays and movies.  He was also a noted raconteur in his private life, using his irrepressible wit to skewer stuffed shirts and deflate the pompous vaporing of so-called experts in any and every field.  Here are five gems on finances that came from him, and that we can all learn from:

·       “A hospital bed is a parked taxi with the meter running.’

Groucho was one of the first Hollywood stars to insist on using a stand-in for any stunts he considered to be even slightly dangerous.  He advised his children to work at boring jobs rather than risky ones; the money’s the same, he insisted, and you don’t have to spend time and money taking care of injuries.

·       “The only primrose path I know of is Wall Street!”

Groucho learned his lesson after the 1929 Wall Street Crash.  He invested in a wide variety of financial instruments, from real estate to bonds to precious metals, and was able to help his other brothers when their incomes dwindled at the end of their film career because they had insisted on investing in nothing but stocks.

·       “Alimony is like buying hay for a dead horse.”

Well, okay, this is more bitter hindsight than sound financial advice, since Groucho had 3 wives during his lifetime.  But he managed to stay friends with all three of his ex-wives and they eventually agreed to drop their alimony demands on him – thus proving once again that you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar!

·       “I find television very educational.  Every time someone turns on a set I go into another room and read a book.”

Groucho was an avid reader and book collector.  Towards the end of his life he estimated he had spent a total of four-hundred dollars on television sets, which were now worth nothing, and had spent well over twenty-thousand dollars on books, which were now worth nearly a million dollars.  He obviously knew the wisdom of spending money on things that not only give pleasure, but increase in value.

·       “The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.  If you can fake those you’ve got it made.”

Groucho’s friends knew him to be a hard bargainer, but an honest one.  When he made a deal, he stuck by it no matter what.  This came in handy in the mid 1930’s, when the Marx Brothers’ movie career was considered to be over.  The team was let go by Paramount Studios and Groucho decided to take them into radio for a trial run.  When MGM Studios requested them for a movie, Groucho told them that they had already signed a contract for radio and would not back out of it.  Louis B. Mayer, the head of MGM, was so impressed with Groucho’s honesty and integrity that he personally bought out the team’s contract with the radio network, and the team began work on what many consider to be one of the greatest movie comedies every made, “A Night at the Opera”.

Why You Don't Need to Have Straight A's on Your Class Cards to Land a Six-Figure Income

Money

School Grades and Making Money
Get a good education. Get good grades. With these, you are guaranteed success at almost anything in life. History has proven this statement to be wrong many times over. With whom do you want to start to put this so-called rule into the dustbin where it belongs? Why not some of the most successful entrepreneurs of our electronic or digital revolution? Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, was a drop-out. He is also one of the richest men on the planet today. Another success is Michael Dell, also a drop-out, who founded Dell Computers. Neither had a so-called proper education.

5 Famous Billionaires Who never Graduated from high school

Education Offers Tremendous Benefits

No doubt about it, education can offer some tremendous benefits. Indeed, as a rule, someone with a professional degree usually will earn a hell of a lot more money than a high school drop out over the course of a lifetime. But it's a rule with many, many exceptions. While he is in a field awash in awesome sums of money, Frank Kern, a multi-millionaire consultant to coaches and other athletic experts, has this to say about the rule: “The people who are professing to be experts, telling you what you can and can’t do in life and how to do it, are a bunch of f*****g jackasses. The model that society teaches you to become successful is highly flawed.” Pretty strong stuff, eh?

The Source of the Myth

So where did this degree-earned-with-A's myth come from? Probably post World War II America, and it quickly spread around the globe. Ironically, part of the success of this myth is probably due to the skilful marketing abilities of the educational bureaucracy itself. Why is this ironic? More on that later. After the “last great war” a period of unprecedented U.S. economic dominance was easy to attain against the backdrop of a destroyed Europe, a vanquished Japan, and a general Asian, African, and South American malaise.

Mythical America, Mythical Planet, Real Revolution

This helped to create the illusion of a mythical America, a shining city on a hill of freedom and prosperity. Well, it did lead mankind to set foot on the moon. Work hard, do the right things, and achieve the dream. This was the lesson learned from American parents and reinforced in our global learning institutions for a whole generation of American “baby boomers" and societies around the world. It became the proverbial universal and conventional wisdom. The electronic or digital revolution has laid the myth flat once and for all. And any working individual anywhere in the world must retool their thinking regarding the achievement of success.

Now That the Old Way Is Gone

Perhaps it never even really existed under the old way. So what do you do to obtain real security and working joy nowadays? Increasing your education becomes more and more a process of diminishing returns. So what are your choices? You may be intelligent, you may have a good work ethic, and maybe you've acquired some valuable skills during your career. Well, let go of the myth, step out of the box, and build your own dream and security. Find a new paradigm for your career and life path, one that puts you in control of your own destiny.

Expand Your Reach and Help More People

More important than any skills or education you may have acquired up until now, your next step is to become a master of marketing. No other skill, no matter your field or profession, is more important than this to learn. Honing this marketing mentality will result in your success no matter which way you may choose to measure it. If you want a good life partner, advancement in your job, a fine house, or just a lot of money, you must become a marketer, a salesman, a dealer of influence. This is where the irony of the educational bureaucracies comes in: They have managed to market to you, in an effort at self-preservation, that they are the best way to achieve success. And it just ain't always so.

People with Straight A's Are Smart

The statement is not really true. Unless by “smart” you mean a person who knows how to study and work the system. Yes, it could mean that you know how to employ logic, reason, empathy, sympathy, thinking on your feet, persistence, determination, and mental agility. And that's okay, but you don't have to go to school and make A's to know those things. They are essential life skills. Mastering and employing them will help you triple your income, whether you start your own enterprise or climb your way up a corporate ladder.

Six-Digit Incomes and Really Helping Others

Michael Ellsberg, the author of Education of Millionaires, put it succinctly, “Marketing is a mentality. It’s a worldview that puts customers’ emotional reality first, and inquires deeply about their needs, wants, and desires.” Chuck Rylant, who makes a living by helping entrepreneurs live extraordinary lives, will tell you that you will be able to expand your reach and help more people. That the majority of service providers enter a profession first out of a desire to help people; second to make money. If you’re not able to get their attention, and demonstrate the value you will add to their lives, they will not hire you, nor will they benefit from your services.

Straight A's on Your Class Cards. Your Ticket to Success?

Think about the words of these two gentlemen as you ponder your prospects in life. Understand that it's good to be knowledgeable and up-to-date. But making straight A's on your class cards are not really a sure ticket to success or a six-figure income and the security it can bestow.
